The story

I spent my time in recruitment at one agency. Long enough to see the pattern up close: the delivery was brilliant, candidates rated it, clients came back for more. And the founders were still doing BD between 9pm and 11pm because that was the only time left in the day.

Placements were landing, invoices were going out, but the new client pipeline was a weekly gamble. Some weeks the founder had energy for LinkedIn DMs. Most weeks they didn't. The whole business was hostage to whatever was left after delivery.
